The final question of one of the most intriguing of the bunch as the showdown between Eli Tomac and Jeffrey Herlings has never fully come to fruition. The Dutch rider showed up at the 2017 Ironman National last year and completely trounced the field with 1-1 scores, but Tomac was in the midst of attempting to secure his first AMA 450 Pro Motocross Championship; the two of them battled in the first moto, but Tomac made a mistake and went into conser- vation mode for the remainder of the day.
