>> Life was great for the Yamaha pilot, when coming into the Crawfordsville round. But if there were anyway for it to become better, Aaron Plessinger would secure it by Saturday’s end. Plessinger, the recent recipient of the 250 National Championship, seemed to be on cloud nine when walking through the pits in the wee hours of the morning. Although having fun was always the goal, he wanted to solidify his presence in the series by putting a stamp on the division, and walking away with a win (and of course, a monetary bonus wouldn’t hurt.) From the moment he placed his tread on the track, the bike and turf seemed to simply gel together. A perfect harmony of mother earth and machine, he began to rip through this slop with synchronization like no other. His lanky limbs prevented him falling down, and the GNCC background of course played a pivotal role, but you simply couldn’t deny the amount of talent the Ohio native had. The rst moto was a true display of his skills, as third place start had him sitting pretty to begin the festivities. Eyeing Chase Sexton and Justin Cooper, he would slowly work his way around the two riders, inheriting the lead on lap number eight. He was at a constant manual, and wheeling everything in sight, whether it was a speci c roller or temporary pond that entrenched the raceway. This effort was an outright testament to what this champion could do, as his frame truly proved his worth on the 450 in years to come. Thanking his sponsors as usual on the podium, he looked to have one nal ride off into the sunset, in a few short hours. Leading early onto begin, he looked to put the back in the dust (but not literally of course, as the track was an absolute slop fest). It was about as clean of a run as you could get, the front number plate and jersey staying relatively clean, and his vision was nearly clear. He continued to leap the outbound tabletop jump, never once questioning his ability to control the machine despite landing in the mud. He would continue to piece together a run for the ages, timelessly leaving his impression on the divi- sion for years to come. Plessinger, a champion in all aspects, would sweep the Ironman national, leaving no question as to whom the dominant force was.
