flag; the two of them riding fender-to-fender and bar-to-bar for practically the entire race. Richards dug deep on the final lap and put in the fastest lap of the race, completing the pass on the KTM rider in order to steal the victory. The second day of racing was just as successful for the young Cobra rider, scoring another first place finish in the (4-8) division as well as a second place result in the (7-8) class. The two victories that he accumulated in the (4-8) class allowed for a little bit of breathing room in the final moto, but the 1-2 moto scores in the (7-8) class set up a winner takes all situation between himself and Dennis heading into the final moto. It’s worth noting that Richards was one of the only rid- ers in the 51cc class to hit a huge double just before the last corner, separating himself from the rest of the competition in fine style while doing so. He was able to use the obstacle to his advantage on the final day of racing and wrap up both titles, adding to his budding collection of AMA emblazoned number one plates back home in New Jersey.
