Ken Roczen was business as usual on Saturday morning in Maryland. He qualified in the number one spot and was ready to wrap up the championship. Roczen shot out of the gate when the first moto began, and made his way into 1st place before the second corner. He continually turned in the fastest laps of the moto and began to stretch his lead substantially. It was a quiet moto for Ken as he domi- nated and took the win in commanding fashion. He all but clenched the championship and would go to the second moto ready to get it done. Roczen got an excellent start when the next moto began and was able to make his way passed buddy, Andrew Short, early on lap one.
