Jordon smith was ready to get the second to last race of the season underway in Maryland on Saturday morning. He looked smooth in practice and looked to be the fastest of the red bikes. When the gate dropped for the first 250 moto, Jordon got a great jump and was able to hang on to 3rd place as the chaos behind him fizzled out. Jordon was running good in 3rd place but began to feel some pressure from Joey Savatgy around the third lap. As they neared the halfway point, Savatgy was able to make the pass but Jordon wanted it back. He made a charge through the rollers and nearly made contact with Savatgy. Jordon began to swap from side to side and was just along for the ride at that point. He was able to save it and continued his race. The mistake allowed two other riders by and he was now running 6th place. Then, on the 9th lap, disaster struck the Honda rider as the rutted track got the best of him. He would go back to the truck and regroup for the next moto. Jordon had a terrible gate pick in the second moto because of his DNF in the first. He did everything he could to pull off a good start but was inevitably pinched off in the first corner. He was still able to keep it inside the top twenty and was running 16th place by the third lap. Another mistake would drop him again and he was outside the top twenty by the hallway point. Jordon eventually finished in 23rd and would go to next weekend ready for a fresh start.
