After a season best a week ago in Barrie Ontario at the final round of the Canadian Championship and MXON approaching soon Tyler Medaglia set sail to race Budds Creek. The Husqvarna rider started the day off great qualifying 9th overall in combined times with a 2:06.111, he was just under a second off of Phil Nicoletti’s time of a 2:05.276 and he qualified 5th. TDags had a terrible first lap in race one, being forced to play catch up. He made his way all the way up to the top 20 but ended up falling back to 33rd
by the checkered. Race two didn’t start in the favour of Medaglia as he started well outside of the top 20 again, forcing him to navigate through traffic the whole moto. Tyler was running 25th after the first 4 minutes of the race, just getting into the top 20 at the midway point. Medags was chasing down former CMRC Rider Kyle Chisolm but could not hang on to the pace. Early front runner Heath Harrison was dropping back through the pack and gave Tyler one more position in the final stages of the race. Tyler finished 33-18 for 20th overall this weekend, probably not the results he was looking for but the experience and knowledge of racing with the level of the AMA riders is a thumbs up in its own.
