>> Although Cameron McAdoo was able to avoid the carnage in the opening corner
last weekend at AT&T Stadium, the Geico Honda rider was still forced to take evasive action, knocking him way down the order at the beginning of the race. Additionally, the nineteen year old came together with another rider on the opening lap and fractured the fth metacarpal in his right hand still battling back to a thirteenth place nish. McAdoo found himself right where he left off when qualifying got underway for the second 250SX East round at Raymond James Stadium, nishing fteenth overall after both sessions. As the gate dropped for the second heat race, it was clear that McAdoo had found a sure re way to avoid any and all rst turn carnage -- beat everyone else to the rst corner. The Geico Honda rider rode bar-to-bar down the start straight alongside his teammate, RJ Hampshire, and the two of them dove into the opening rhythm section in rst and second position. McAdoo quelled advances from the likes of Dylan Ferrandis and Martin Davalos throughout the opening lap of action, but he was only able to slow their progression at best. The sophomore supercross racer lost his rhythm throughout the midway point of the race as he forfeited a couple of positions, dropping back to fth by the fourth lap. Nonetheless, the teenager did an exceptional job of regrouping in order to re-establish
a rhythm, battling with Jordon Smith in the nal stages of the moto. But, the Troy Lee Designs Red Bull KTM rider was able to make the move just before the checkered ag, relegating McAdoo to a nal result of sixth position. The immaculate start that McAdoo conceived in the heat race was not reenacted in the main event, but he still managed to put his Honda inside the top ten in the early stages of the race. The nineteen year old settled into eighth position on the opening lap and immediately surrendered the position to Smith one lap later, similar to the end of his heat race. McAdoo rode strongly to hold down ninth place throughout the opening portion of the main event, but it wasn’t long until he bene ted from the misfortune of his Geico Honda teammate, Jeremy Martin, therefore promoting him to eighth position. From that point onward, it was a relatively processional performance for the youngster. He showcased his composure and tness as he clicked off consistent lap times, staying smart and steady in an effort to avoid a similar situation to last weekend. McAdoo comfortably claimed the eighth spot, earning fteen solid championship points to place him tenth overall heading to the second 250SX East round in Atlanta.
