>> Dean Wilson has not finished a season of outdoors since moving up to the 450 class, fighting injuries each year. Hoping to make 2017 his year the Rock- star Energy Husqvarna rider has been putting in the time. Qualifying for the day up in eighth, Wilson was looking strong on the 450. As the gate dropped for
the first race of the season Wilson got tangled up in a crash that left him back
in twenty-fourth at the end of the first lap. With a lot of ground to cover, he had his Rockstar machine running wide open the entire race. Taking great strides each lap he was swiftly moving forward through the pack. Halfway through the race he was already up to fourteenth and still charging. By the time the moto reached its conclusion Wilson had worked his way up to an impressive tenth place finish. Carrying that momentum, he got a killer jump out of the gate for moto two, sitting up near sixth after the first lap. He quickly made a move on the 450-class rookie, Cooper Webb, jumping up into fifth. The last pass he makes in the moto was on Broc Tickle for fourth place. Riding mistake free the rest of the race, Wilson was showcasing his talents as an outdoor rider through the tough conditions. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider went 10-4 for an overall finish of fourth place. If it wasn’t for that first moto crash who knows what could have happened, but Dean-o was on it for the first round of the season.
