FREDRIK NOREN
450 MX / 15TH

>> Fredrik Noren has been making a name for himself in American motocross for many years now. He has had some very impressive finishes in the past and was even picked up to fill in for factory Honda multiple times because of it. Last season, he ended up stringing three top ten finishes together at the end of the season. His natural talent is abundant every time he graces a motocross track and things were no different when the series began at Hangtown. The Swede was very fast aboard his privateer machine and was eager to pick up where he finished off last season. He was one of the fastest privateers and looked to make a statement against the factory boys. As the gate dropped for the first 450 moto of the year, Fredrik did his best to hang with the rest of the pack. He held strong and was eating the roost like a champ. He was able to take smart lines, avoid
the crashes and crossed the green flag in 15th position. Then, Freddy caught a break as a couple of riders in front of him went down. He was now counted in an impressive 12th place. Fast Freddy held on to the spot for most of the moto until lap 9 where Barcia and Wilson forced their way by. He held on to 15th for the next few laps until he was handed a position from another rider’s mistake. Freddy was now right behind fellow privateer, Cody Cooper, and on the last lap, he made the move on him. This was good enough to make Noren the first privateer to cross the line in the first moto with an impressive 13th place finish. In the second moto, Freddy was determined to be the fastest privateer again. When the gate dropped, he did his best to run with the factory bikes. He maintained a top 15 po- sition throughout the first lap and was looking strong. Freddy kept his pace quick but unfortunately, a mistake would push him outside the top twenty early in the moto. Fast Freddy then put his skills to work as he began to claw his way back through the pack. Basically passing a rider each lap, he made his way all the way up to 15th by the time the checkers flew. These finishes were good enough for 15th overall, a very impressive finish for the young privateer.
