>> Tony Archer has been around the sport for many years now. He has seen some success here and there and has steadily been mak- ing a name for himself. Tony is now riding a 250 for the first time in
his seven years of being a professional racer. Tony turned out a solid top 20 finish last weekend as the series kicked off and was looking
to keep the ball rolling when the series headed to the Georgia Dome. He looked comfortable in practice and seemed to most definitely be
a contender for another top twenty finish. Tony’s start to 250 Heat 1 didn’t go as planned but he was able to keep his Honda on two wheels as the chaos ensued. He was running top fifteen and doing his best to put in some clean laps. He was able to gain one more position but fell victim to the red clay as he crashed hard with two laps to go. He got back going again towards the rear of the pack where he would finish. When the gate dropped for the 250 LCQ, It was clear to see that Tony was determined to qualify for the Main as the pack of hungry riders took off. He nearly pulled the holeshot from the furthest outside gate and was running in 3rd place early on. Tony kept his laps fast and consistent, and he was able to secure his spot in the race that counts. When the Main event began, Tony did not get as good of a start and found his self outside the top 15 as the riders completed their first
lap. The Georgia clay would then force a mistake out of Tony, which dropped him more positions. He was now sitting towards the tail end of the pack and it seemed he was ready for the night to be over. Then, with about 6 minutes left on the clock, Archer was assuredly feeling the pain from his crash in the Heat and called it a night in Atlanta. He was counted with 22nd position.
