>> Matt Ryan absolutely solidified his name as one of the top-tier talent’s in the NFL this year; engraving his name on the stadium in which we all know as the Georgia Dome. A sharpshooter, known for his long ball game, he seemed to el- evated with every single game that passed. We too have a candidate who famil- iarizes himself with those same characteristics of the aforementioned Ryan, and he goes by Joey Savatgy. Always one to clear the path and blaze a trail through- out the practice sessions, he was one of the first to launch off the “Great Wall of Atlanta”, into the beaches of the Gulf (in which we call the sand section). It was little things like this that separated himself from the field throughout the day, and coming into the main event, both he and his mechanic opted to break the track down piece by piece; creating a game of links, rather than viewing the circuit as one complete board. Feverishly searching for that pristine 51 second mark, the hunt was on too dip his laptimes as low as possible, reiterating his workmanship throughout the week at the practice facility. Lining up behind the launch pad, the glare of the stadium lights beaming off his goggles, he had made his way into the main event, and was willing to show everyone in attendance the hand he was dealt. As the pack dove into turn number one, Savatgy was nowhere to be found. Buried extremely deep, he knew that he would have to pull every effort out of
his bag of tricks in order to salvage the points lead; he would pull the trigger into savage mode. Moving past Renzland in the earlier going, he was making moves, moving to eighth by the 13-minute mark. Each lap he would chip away, rubbing plastic with riders such as Luke Renzland, and even teammate Adam Ciancia- rulo. After coming up just short of a title last year, Savatgy knows that attrition can be a strong suit to hold in his deck of cards. He would move up to fourth by race end in and stay here, with a solid sum of points leaving Atlanta.
