>> Mitchell Falk was heading into the inaugural Motofest in Atlanta, Georgia fresh off of a broken col- larbone that he sustained at Monster Energy Cup last October. He won the first race in dominant fashion after battling his way through the pack, but disaster struck at the beginning of the second moto when he locked bars with a competitor down the start straight and was sent tumbling off of his motorcycle. The Californian was off the bike for a couple of months, but he returned to action at the TWMX Trans AM Championship just a couple of weeks ago, earning a second place overall in the pro class. Falk was ea- ger to get back into a stadium and redeem his Monster Energy Cup shortcomings and it showed as soon as he hit the track for practice. He adapted to the track almost instantly as he began to lay down hot lap after hot lap, setting a precedent for the rest of the field to follow. In his last practice session, he unfortu- nately scrubbed the finish line jump with a little too much intensity and wasn’t able to bring the bike back around; therefore, separating himself from his TLD KTM machine and breaking his femur in the process. He has proven on multiple occasions that he’s the real deal on the indoor circuit and he’ll be back to do it again as soon as he heals up.
