>> Sooner State native Trey Canard is always a force to be reckoned with on the track. After a shoulder injury forced him to be out for a while, the Redbull KTM rider made his return only a couple of rounds ago in Arlington. After an eighth place finish last weekend in Minneapolis, the number forty-one rider had to make Moto Fest in the Georgia Dome count. Trey Canard lined up amongst some of his greatest competitors for a stacked 450 heat one. The gate dropped and rust colored dirt flew as twenty bikes came careening into the first turn. Canard quickly found himself in a third place position, directly in the heat of the battle. Unfor- tunately Canard encountered some bad luck during this heat race. A fall and contact being made between Trey and Malcolm Stewart right before the finish line, resulted in an eleventh place finish for the Oklahoman. Ca- nard was headed to the Semis. The riders made their way to staging for 450 Semi two. Canard with the holeshot! The KTM leads the pack while maintaining stability in the rugged whoops and gnarly sand box lap after lap. Trey Canard had his fourth career Semi win as well as a ticket to the Main Event. As quickly as the thirty-second board filled the dome with electricity, the Main was underway. Canard, plus a few other riders, got off to a tough start after getting hung up in a tidal wave composed of tiny grains of sand. Trey found himself in Eighteenth place early in the moto, but he was able to stay calm and work hard throughout the remainder of the race. Trey Canard was able to finish the race in eleventh place, it was not where he was last weekend, but hopefully Trey Canard will be back in the top ten next weekend in the Great White North.
