>> Go ahead and think of the ideal body type for a professional motocross and Supercross racer. I’m sure the frame of 6’6, 190, isn’t the first thought
that comes to mind, however KTM’s Benny Bloss has used his height to his advantage since day one, eventually propelling him to multiple amateur titles and a solid professional ride. Although a bit unorthodox with his style, his
long leverage allows the body to disperse his energy in an efficient manner; allowing the KTM to flow with a series of manual’s and wheelies around the track. Budd’s Creek was no different, as he had to do everything in his power to work his way up from a 17th place start. Passing riders such as Freddie Noren, and Dakota Alix throughout the majority of the moto, he was continu- ously climbing the ladder of higher placing, all the while never sitting down. These hills weren’t of any match to the Midwestern native, and his efforts would be rewarded with an 11th place finish. For moto number two, he was tirelessly preparing for a better start; and it was, but slightly, with a 13th across the opening stripe. Pushing forward, he was holding strong with the likes of Alix, and Christian Craig just in front of him; quite the duo of length in the 450 field I might add. Speeding down the mechanic’s straight away, his crew was encouraging with every lap, slapping the pitboard and reiterating their courage in the number 34. It would work, as he was closing in on Matt Bisceglia in the final few laps. However, it would be just a tad too late, coming across the line in the rearview of the yellow fender. Consistent on the day, he would take an 11th-11th ride, for 11th overall.
