as the gate fell, the Canadian seemed to become buried amongst the field heading into turn
one. With some quick-witted passing, thompson completed lap number one in the final trans- fer spot. not willing to settle, Cole made quick work of Chase marquier and austin Politelli to take the seventh position. steadfast in seventh, thompson was a recipient of Jordon smith’s
horrific miscalculation in the whoop section, and finished just behind Zach osborne in sixth.
With a horrendous start, and having to dodge complete chaos in the opening lap, Thompson came from 21st to 15th as the passed timing and scoring. Sliding passed Trevor Reis, Cole obtained 14th and began to stalk Chase Marquier, capturing 13th by lap five. At the halfway point, Cole stormed passed Cole Martinez to take 12th, his eyes on the Australian of Hayden Mellross. Michael Leib had other plans in mind and took the 12th position back from Thompson, pushing the Canuck back to 13th.
The battle continued on as the race hit lap ten, 11th through 14th began to shuffle, each rider vying for the position ahead of them. As a result, Thompson couldn’t match the intensity, and fell into 14th. Slowly but steadily, however, Cole had
proceeded into 13th and finished there.
