always being the best starter was faced with a new challenge tonight of a record breaking start straight length. Which posed to be a tough one, Dungey got a mid pack start in the main event putting him in a position behind many of the best riders. Having to work his way forward wasn’t an easy task for the points leader having to pass Reed, Tomac, Seely and a few others to get up to the front. He quickly maneuvered his way up
to 6th right behind Chad Reed. Passing him the smoothest way possible the champ moved up
to 5th rapidly closing in on Seely and Millsaps who were having a battle of their own. Cutting down hard in a turn he passes Millsaps, shortly after that Seely stalls his bike putting Dungey in a podium spot. Seven seconds behind the leader the #1 is riding as smooth as ever with his eyes on the prize. Keeping his head down Dungey slowly begins to reel in Tomac. Be- ing a little more comfortable then Tomac through the tough whoops, Dungey cruises by putting him in 2nd. With just five laps to go and the idea of losing his win streak Ryan Dungey is charging as hard as he can to close the six seconds between him and first place. Just as Dungey slowly began to close the gap the race was coming to a close leaving him with a second place finish. As he said on his heat race podium speech, “There’s more room for improvement”
and we will be seeing that at the upcoming rounds.
