Finishing day one with a 2nd and 5th, Hymas had already accomplished the noise he meant to make but
day two wasn’t to be wasted. Beginning with the Mini Sr. 2 class, Chance was again facing a tough set of competitors but came out swinging in the first heat, finishing 2nd behind Max Miller. Carrying the momentum into the 2nd moto of the class, Chance didn’t quite get the needed jump, crossing lap one in 6th behind some of the quickest kids you’ve ever seen. Unable to make any sort of charge, Hymas settled in 6th, crossing off
the flawless laps with a growing gap over the rider behind him in 7th. Unfortunately, time ran out and Chance finished 8th, taking home 5th and 6th place finishes over the two days. Setting himself up for his more competitive division, Hymas actually took a step back in his 85cc heat finishing 5th, a race in which he had won the day before. Realizing the setback, Chance geared up strong for moto two main event and came off the gate on a mission. Leading the race and holding a slim three-second gap over Shane Gola in 2nd through the first three laps, Chance and Gola, together, laid down their strongest times on lap four. Gola, actually having the better of the two times, came out on the short end while Chance was too perfect to let the Husqvarna rider by, finishing 1st in wire-to-wire fashion. Taking home an overall, along with three top five overalls, Hymas officially over-ruled the rankings and forced himself on the leaderboard. Job well done.
