In the first heat of the 7-9 class on the second day of mini racing, there wasn’t a single racer out there that could keep up with danger boy as the #238 KTM was gone by the end of the first lap. Gapping out the 2nd place rider of Julian Beaumer by twenty seconds after the five lap sprint of the mini-bike classes, all eyes were on Haiden
for moto two. Unable to lockdown his fourth 1st place start in as many races, danger boy crossed lap one in 5th and had some space to close if he wanted to keep the hot streak alive. Laying down his fastest time of the moto on lap two, Deegan picked up three spots and was in 2nd behind Beaumer. It seemed to be only temporary, though, as Julian allowed Haiden by on lap three, where Deegan sealed their fate with his fourth moto victory and complete class sweep of the 65cc 7-9 classification; a masterful performance out of, possibly, the craziest kid on the course all day.
For the Open class, with the unsatisfactory 2nd place finishes from the first day, danger boy once again had his hands full with Ryder Difrancisco joining in on the two rider battle. Actually, Deegan happened to start the race in second just as he had done before but a completely charged Difrancisco motored by Deegan on lap three pushing Haiden to 3rd where he would finish with his first result outside the top two. If you ask Haiden himself, he would most likely consider it a fluke but the Orange Brigade backed danger boy let the riding do the talking in his last moto of the week. Yoder again jumped out front from the beginning leaving Haiden to fend for the 2nd spot all alone. Difrancisco was, in fact, in 3rd behind Deegan but was unable to challenge the Mulisha member, ultimately dropping to six seconds behind the 2nd spot. Racing only two classes, Haiden’s week was a quick one but finished with a 1-1, 2-2, 1-1, 3-2 moto scores, Haiden may walk away from Mammoth as one of, if not the, most dominant figures within the fenced forestry of the Mammoth motocross circuit. Danger boy clearly has the support and talent to turn his dream into a reality, here’s to a successful journey in following the general’s footsteps.
