JORDAN JARVIS
Jordan Jarvis had a perfect week at the 2016 Loretta Lynn Amateur Motocross National Championship, winning number one plates in both Girls Sr. (12-16)
and Women (14+) Amateur. The North Carolina native has a total of three number one plates to her name at the Ranch and an additional four overall podium finishes throughout her career, making her one of the most decorated riders competing in the Women (12+) division this year. The Yamaha rider has had a reasonably successful introduc- tory season to the WMX series, finish- ing fourth in the opening round of the series at Daytona. Jarvis took the first WMX victory of her career at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship and she backed it up in Hedgesville, West Virginia one month later. She punched her ticket to the Ranch at the Northeast Youth Regional at Birch Creek Motors- ports Park, taking the win in the Women (12+) class in comfortable fashion, setting up the perfect opportunity for her to earn her fourth Loretta Lynn Amateur National Championship at the beginning of August.
JAZZMYN CANFIELD
It was apparent from the start of her career as an amateur motocross racer that Jazzmyn Canfield was the real deal, setting a record as the youngest ever competitor to win the Girls (9-11) class
in her Loretta Lynn’s debut back in 2011. She has since added three more number one plates to her tally at the Ranch which are complemented by three separate second place finishes, making her one
of the most successful women actively competing in Hurricane Mills this year.
A heartbreaking mechanical failure kept her from achieving her fifth Loretta Lynn Amateur National Championship last year in the Girls (11-16) division, but it was ev- ident that she meant business by winning the first two races of the week. Canfield has stayed relatively quiet throughout
the 2018 racing season thus far, but the Floridian still managed to dominate her classes at the Southeast Regional Quali- fier, winning both the Women (12+) class and the Girls (11-16) division. Her form throughout the qualifiers was no surprise and it won’t be a surprise if she leaves the Loretta Lynn Amateur National with a number one plate either.
