>> Unlike many of the pro riders, Broc Tickle had very few chang- es this off-season. No team changes, no big races, not much news at all meant that Broc was seriously training for the 2017 season. He lined up for the Anaheim opener aboard a familiar RCH Suzuki and was focused and ready to start the 2017 season. It seemed that his work in the off-season was paying off right away, as he looked smooth and fast in qualifying. Broc got off to a great jump in 450 Heat 1 and was eager to show he had been working hard. He came around the first corner in 5th place and kept his laps mis- take free all the way to the finish. He would finish in 5th, which was unfortunately one spot out of qualifying position. He then got off to a fantastic jump in the Semi and held the inside line tight, secur- ing the holeshot and the lead. Broc rode a flawless race start to finish and would go to the Main with some extra confidence. Tickle got a decent jump off the line when the Main Event began but was pinched off quickly as he was forced to the inside going through the first turn. He would come out near the back of the pack. Broc was now counted in 16th place as the riders came off the finish line to begin their second lap. Tickle would make a few passes by the halfway point but the rough and tough Anaheim track would get the best of him causing him to drop back to 16th place by the time the checkers flew. There is no doubt he will be looking for redemption next weekend.
