>> Privateer KTM rider @aubersonkillian was pumped on him- self at A1 but knows there is room for improvement. He recently posted via instagram - “Happy about my riding tonight but I really need to work on my starts!”. The #902 qualified a respectful 17th overall in combined qualifying sessions and was on his way to the first heat race of the year. Relating back to Aubersons insta- gram post, this will give you some insight on how literal he was. He rounded out the holeshot in his heat in 4th from last position. Right away you would think a three digit privateer rider with a near last place start in a stacked 250 heat race is a direct ticket to the LCQ, right? Well not exactly. Killian made leaps and bounds on the opening laps and pushed himself to 10th early on. A three rider battle then began for the final direct transfer position. Aub- erson found himself fighting tooth and nail with fellow privateers Zac Commans and Justin Starling. The race would go down to the wire and Killian was able to secure the final ticket. The main event went pretty smooth for the Swiss rider as he started out dead last but put in solid clean laps to get himself a top 15. Given he had a few gifts from his competitors with mechanical failures and crashes, but hey its supercross and that is all part of the game. To bad Mr Holeshot had a bad crash because Auberson could’ve benefited from a speal or two about how to get a start from Mike Alessi. The #902 could inch closer to that top ten if he can get his starts down.
