>> I wouldn’t say that this was a good or bad weekend for Cole and his efforts at A1. He proved that he could be a top 10 rider even though he was struck with some bad luck. He started off the weekend qualifying 13th on his new IBCorp Yamaha machine with a 1:05.572 just over 500ths of a sec- ond from qualifying inside of the top 10. Cole suffered from mediocre starts all night or else his positions in both his heat race and main event could have been substantially better. The #53 had to go to battle with the same group of guys in each race also, it seemed like no matter what happened out on the track Cole was going to find Auberson, Commans and Starling. A1 is always a race where you see what you have to improve on and how you stack up against others, and round 2 can be a completely different ball game. By the sounds of things (via IG on Martinez’ profile) it looks like his deal was just finalized 3 days before A1. I know he has been riding and preparing but now that he is 100% in the series with good equipment you can bet he will finish better than 18th next weekend.
