>> When the crowd begins to roar and thousands rise from their seats, it can be a grueling task to remain composed and collected with a seemingly unbearable force closing in around you. Few
are able to withhold and outlast the temptation to crumble; many shy away to begin with, reluctantly scurrying back to the shadows where they cannot be identified. However, for those that choose
to stand, and display an act of courage, the reward can be satis- factory; and Cole Seely knows this all too well. Looking to set the tone early in the championship, Seely knew he had to latch onto the blistering pace and adapt in the opening moments. Hovering near the eighth place position, Seely’s elbows down, casual style allowed him to remain relaxed and opportunistic, willing to make moves when the chance arose, and not force the hand he was dealt. It paid off, as he appeared to hit the berms with the perfect amount of throttle at the specific apex, never exploding or washing the front end; he took pride in his calculating trek, landing every rhythm lane on the specific down slope, all the while gaining time on those, such as Davi Millsaps. Creeping his way into the top five at one point, it was his all too familiar friend of Jason Anderson knocking at his door near race end, and unfortunately overtaking the highly coveted fifth place position. However, we all know that the championship can’t be won in a day; Seely appeared to remind himself of that as he exited the stadium, taking sixth back to the semi, and yearning to improve in a mere seven days.
