>> The defending AMSOIL AX champion picked up right where
he left off as he signed, sealed, and delivered a statement to his competitors with the fastest lap of the day in timed qualifying. Bab- bit’s / Monster Energy / AMSOIL Kawasaki’s Gavin Faith continued his flawless run of form as racing got underway as he rocketed
out of the gate to an early lead in his heat race, leading from the gate drop to the checkered flag ahead of his fierce championship rival, Chris Blose. Faith was paired up with Matt Goerke in the first round of the head-to-head challenge and he was able to take the win in a fairly comfortable manner. He moved on to the next stage where Goerke’s Rockstar Energy / OTSFF / Yamaha teammate attempted to derail his momentum, but it was to no avail; Faith moved onto the final round which ended in a showdown with Jace Owen, but unfortunately for him he had to concede defeat and take 2nd place. It was a solid night of main events and a decent beginning to the defense of his crown for Kawasaki’s Faith. He gave up too much time to Owen on the starts - he found himself around 4th place in both main events - although he was able to work his way back up to 2nd throughout the course of both races. There was a little less resistance in the first main event as Faith was locked in a fierce battle with Lamay whilst withstanding pres- sure from Goerke in the second. Faith will head back down to the Goat Farm where he’ll continue to put in the hard work in an at- tempt to grab the win in Grand Rapids come next Saturday.
