he advanced directly
into the Superpole
session on Friday
afternoon.

He was able to escape the crash
relatively unscathed and lined up on
the grid for the second race raring
the Kawasaki rider got a decent jump headed into the first corner and found himself around the top ten for the opening stages of the race. Petersen was involved in a battle with Hayden Gillim in the early stages, but he had
a more consistent pace throughout
full race distance and was able to permanently overtake tenth position overall. The South African was able to hold strong all the way to the checkered flag where he earned fifth place in
the Superstock class, earning some valuable points heading into the second round of racing at Road Atlanta.

SHOWDOWN
The South African managed
to clock the eighth fastest lap time overall as the third fastest Superstock machine, placing him in positive spirits for the first race of the season. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned for Petersen as he made a mistake in the opening stages of the first race that forced him to DNF.
