>> One of the most famous quotes of motocross racing is “You win championships on your worst days”. This quote is notoriously heard from the GOAT ( Greatest Of All Time ) Ricky Carmichael. If the saying is true then Zach Osborne may have just won this 2017 Motocross Title. Osborne was doing his typical thing in moto one
by coming from around 10th position to the front of the field. On his way Wacho Zacho had a great battle with fastest qualifier Adam Cianciarulo. Zach trailed AC for a few laps before making a creative pass by jumping over an inside berm to the outside berm and which lead him to the inside of the next corner where he stood Adam up just before the second set of sand rollers. Once Osborne finally made his way past Zach seemed to be on a mission and was dropping his lap times by 1-2 seconds. Osborne just got onto the rear wheel of RJ Hampshire for 4th position and just when Zach went to make the pass on the inside of a right handed corner he hit the rut with so much speed and force that his rad hose blew off of his bike. Osbornes bike immediately started to smoke, the smoke dissipated after a lap and a half which is a bad sign because it means you no longer have coolant. Amazingly enough Zachs bike held strong for the remaining five minutes of the race. At one point Osborne did drop to 10th position but he was granted two of those positions back from fallen riders. This could’ve easily been a DNF for the Rockstar Husqvar- na rider but he was able to salvage 8th. By the way Zach had his first DNF of many at this very race in 2016. Race two was a completely different story for the 16 of Osborne even though he did have a small tip over on the second lap. Once again his biggest battle of the race was with Cianciarulo but once he made his way past Zach dropped the hammer and was going 3+ seconds a lap faster then all of the riders. He was over 11 seconds behind first place rider Joey Savatgy. In just a few laps Osborne was on banging bars with Savatgy, Zach got himself to the lead and the rest is history. 8-1 was good enough for 3rd overall.
