>> Weston Peick has definitely proved himself to be someone to keep your
eye on during this outdoor season. Would he bring the same fire that he has shown in some of the previous rounds? Millville is a one of a kind track that a strong rider like Peick could definitely show some results at. The Autotrader/ Monster Energy/ JGR/ Yamaha machine lined up for the first moto with his eyes on the prize and searching for the start that he needed to be on step ahead of his competition on this rugged track. The gates fell to the earth and the riders were off, side-by-side and wide open as they stretched and shredded down the sandy start straightaway. Peick found himself in the thirteenth place spot as he came muscling out of the deep first corner. Not the greatest start, but definitely something that this rider out of California could capitalize on before the end of the moto. Within a couple of laps, Weston Peick moved into twelfth, and with strength and consistency on a mercilessly rutted track, he was able to reach the finish line in the twelfth place spot. The sun bet down upon the riders and air was thick with humidity as the thirty-second card rose into the Upper Midwestern sky. Gates dropped and the number 32 machine was sitting in an unfortunate 31st place position as he came out of the first turn, but we all know that Peick is not one to throw in the towel as he moved into the twentieth place spot by the second lap. Weston Peick was a man on a mission and by mid-moto he was in the eleventh place position, and continued in that spot until the checkered flag flew. What an incredibly resilient ride on an unbelievably rough track. After gain- ing twenty-one spots in his second moto, Weston Peick is leaving Millville with very hard-earned and respectable 12-11 finishes, resulting in an eleventh place overall. Hopefully Peick can find the start he needs at round nine and show what he’s really capable of.
