>> Vermont native, Dakota Alix arrived in Millville, Minnesota looking for a finish within the top ten. The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC - KTM – WPS rider lined up for the first moto prepared to take on the competition and prove him- self victorious in dominating the rough and tough track that is Spring Creek. Mountainous white clouds hung heavy against the clear blue Minnesota sky as the thirty-second card rose and sliced through the thick Midwestern humid- ity like butter. The gates dropped and, with a handful of throttle, Alix leaned back and held on as he went dicing and careening through the sandy start straightaway and into the first corner. The number 70 machine found himself sitting the sixteenth place position early on in the race. Quickly moving into fifteenth, Riding hard and smart all the way to the checkered flag, Dakota Alix was able to maintain his fifteenth place spot as the checkered flag waved. The second moto arrived and nerves had to have been at an all time high as the sun baked the backs of gloved hands and the tops of clean and shiny helmets. The Minnesota crowd roared as the faint buzz of a trumpeted chainsaw con- traption, created and played by famous “Whoop Monster”, sounded through Spring Creek’s infield. The excitement was high as the gates dropped for the second moto and Dakota Alix was immediately off to a better start than he was in the first moto when he found himself in the twelfth place positions as he railed through the first rut filled corner. With consistency in his corner, Alix was able to put in some smooth laps on the rough track and finish the moto in the same position that he started in. With 15-12 finishes under his belt, Alix was departing from Minnesota with a respectable thirteenth place overall.
