Benny seemed to be comfortable in practice at Sam Boyd Stadium. He qualified 20th in the shortened practice due to the rain and set his sights on finish the season strong. Benny got a unfavorable start in 450 Heat 1 as he was battling for a top 15 position early. He was able to pass a few riders as he manhan- dled his KTM through the tough track but unfortunately he didn’t make into qualifying position. When the Semi began, Benny got a decent start and was challenging for top 3 position early. Suddenly, the tricky
dragons back section got a hold of Benny and he had to lay the KTM down in the mud. He got back up and amazingly enough, was able to get back into qualifying position. He would take a distant 5th place but he would be in the race that counts. When the Main began, the track was in the worst condition of the night and Benny got off to a top 15 start. He was running 13th for a while but would fall victim to the greasy track. He would finish up the season with a 19th in Las Vegas.
