>> The Man, The Myth, The Legend is back for another season of AMA Supercross. After spending 2017 with the Monster Energy Factory Yamaha team Chad has since been let go from the team and without a ride coming
into 2018. Rumours from both sides of the spectrum have flown about Chad Reed and his career. Some said that he was done and he was going to retire and some said that he was going to take Ryan Dungeys place at Red Bull KTM. Neither of these rumours ended up happening and Chad was forced without support for 2018. This put Chad in a spot that he has been in before, and Reed has made it clear over the years that he will be done racing profes- sionally when he thinks the time is right. So Chad once again put together his own effort much like he did back in 2012 with the TwoTwoMotorsports team but this time around it is a much smaller effort and it is called CR22. Chad hand picked the Husqvarna to be his brand of choice for 2018. Reed has been injured this entire off season and has less then 5 hours of riding in on his new machine. Thankfully that didn’t stop the Aussie from doing what he loves and that it lining up behind the gate with the best riders in the world. In his heat race Chad started 14th and passed 6 riders on the opening lap to get himself to a qualifying position. Chad did get to 7th at one point but Benny Bloss made the pass pushing him back to 8th. Once in the main Chad got a near last start and raced in 19th for most of the main event before getting himself to 15th around the midway point where he would go on to finish. Chad Reed you are an absolute legend and inspiration to many, continue being a bad dude, the motocross/supercross community salutes you.
