>> Kyle Chisholm was a decorated amateur racer long ago. He was known for speed and style and was very sought after as he made his pro debut in 2004. Kyle has been a very familiar face in the sport of Supercross ever since. Al- though many ups and downs have graced the young riders career, he continues to prove that he has a place in the sport of Monster Energy AMA Supercross. Kyle has had many solid races throughout his career and has even won a Ca- nadian Championship since turning pro about fifteen years ago. Before moving up to the premier class around 2009, he was a regular top fifteen contender in the smaller bore class. After Kyle made the jump to the premier class, he was again very consistent and was always counted on to be in the Main Events. In 2017, Kyle made the decision to drop back down to the 250SX class due to many reasons. He contested the 250SX West Championship races and took home many top tens. It seemed to suit him well and when the day finally began at the opener in Anaheim for 2018, “The Chiz” was back aboard the 250SX ma- chine. Although this time, it was for a new team, 51Fifty Energy Drink Yamaha and he was excited to start a fresh path for himself. He started off his day with
a top fifteen lap time in qualifying and was ready to get back to racing. When the gate dropped for the second Heat of the 250SX class, Kyle got off to a very impressive start and was looking very aggressive. He was bar to bar with the other riders for most of the first lap and was holding down a position near the top five. Chiz continued his steady ways and after many positions traded, he would take a 7th place finish. He knew the Main would be a little tougher and when the gate finally dropped for it, Kyle did his best to salvage a good start. Unsuccessfully, he was pinched off quick and rounded the first corner around
a mid pack position. His experience was now paying off as he rode smart for the first few laps and was able to avoid the carnage. The veteran did his best to then improve his position but the stacked class proved to be tough. He pushed hard but kept his cool all the way to the finish. He would finish right where he started in a solid tenth place.
