>> Dakota Alix was a very decorated amateur racer. With nine national titles, Dakota was a very established racer by the time he moved to the pro division in 2015. He has been making a name for himself in Monster Energy AMA Supercross ever since. After Alix began his pro career, it only took him a year to get the hang of it as he began dipping into the top tens as early as 2016. Dakota has continued to impress and made his way
up to a spot on the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC KTM team. His speed has continued to increase along with the expectations as the 2018 series came to commencement. The much anticipated day finally began in Anaheim
and it was now Dakota’s turn to translate his hard work into results. The young Vermont rider took to the new Anaheim soil and took his time getting comfortable. He solidified his spot in the top twenty and was ready to do battle under the southern California sky. Dakota is a racer and was ready to get the battle underway as the gate fell for his Heat race. Dakota launched out to an incredible start but was forced a little more wide in the first corner than he would have hoped. Fortunately, he made the best of it and got his KTM turned quickly. By the time the riders had made their way into the sec- ond corner, he had secured 5th position. With an angry pack right on his heels, Dakota had no choice but to keep his focus forward and do his best to outrun the chaos behind him. Unfortunately, a few mistakes would be the cause of Dakota losing a few spots in a hurry. Dakota hung on for an eight place finish. When the Main Event began, he was determined to finish off the night in a positive way. The always determined Alix got off to a decent start but was held back by other rider’s crashes and mistakes. Dakota was now in thirteenth place and was doing his best just to stay on two wheels. The whoops began to break down and the ruts were getting deeper but Dakota kept his laps consistent. He would eventually pick up one more po- sition as the craziness ensued. Dakota would finish a solid and safe, twelfth place at the season opener.
