Mini Sr. Open, an opportunity for Jett to showcase his skills in a pivotal class, full of an array of stars ranging in ages from 9-14. As many would look into the eyes of their older competition, and
shy away in fear, Jett took a step forward and chose to go toe to toe with his elder classmen. A battle with Kaeden Kniffing would ensue in moto one, where Jett found himself swapping paint and rubbing levers with the Escondido native. After a multiple lap war, Reynolds would come away with a respectable seventh. The second round of the trilogy saw Jett work his way into fifth by lap five, but a devastating DNF would follow. In the final race of the series, Jett chose to let the mistakes of the past fade away, and focus on the present. A solid fourth place start would find him in the midst of some of the top Supermini pilot’s in the nation, trailing Carson Mumford, Ty Masterpool, and Max Miller. He would hold on with the utmost strength, finishing an applaud-worthy fourth by moto’s end.
When the 85cc (9-11) class rolled around, it allowed the Reynolds camp to be a bit at ease, because they were finally on a level playing field. Jett had an opportunity to prove his worth against many his own age, and boy did he deliver. A ninth place start in moto one saw him again provide an exhibit on how to pass the competition, and somehow reside in second on lap two. He would fight Idaho’s Chance Hymas tooth and nail, making an incredible last lap pass, securing the race win. Moto two saw him once again link up with Hymas, as the duo were out front for the duration of the race. Reynolds would remain strong, putting his foot down, and conquer yet another win. Although coming into the final round with a perfect 1-1 score, Jett would have his work cut out for himself, as the Ragin’ Cajun Matthew Leblanc had plans to dampen the parade. A valiant effort by the Lousiana Tiger would be just a tad too short, as Reyn- olds would rally mid moto to take the top spot, and eventually the win. The self-satisfaction of facing stiff competition would pay off for Reynolds, as he would take a shiny number one plate home to Bakersfield.
