Sean’s weekend at the california classic started off good. Sean found his speed early and put
his focus on the motos. The concrete start at Pala received a lot of criticism during the california classic, and not many riders favored it. In the first moto of 250 Pro, Sean was barely inside the top 20 after the first lap. He fought hard and was able to salvage 8th by the time the checkers flew. In moto 2, Sean got a much better start and was leading for the first two laps. Unfortunately, he was
passed by Sexton on lap 3 and Sean had to settle for 2nd place. The final moto was tough for Cantrell as a bad start and a few mistakes would be the cause of another 8th place finish. He would take home 5th overall in 250 pro. In the first moto
of 450 pro, Sean was running 5th until a last lap mistake dropped him back to 7th.
