Ben Lamay is no stranger to the top step of the podium, but he’s also spent a greater number of races not only off the top step, but also off the podium entirely as well. This weekend, however, the odds were in his favor. He would qualify in the #1 position and then take 3rd in his heat. At the start of Main Event 1 it seemed like Gavin Faith would emerge victorious in not only Main
Event 1, but in Main Event 2 and as the overall victor as well. But the large set of whoops and slick conditions turned the rodeo grounds from a #MoreIntense motocross race to more of a rodeo in a matter of seconds as the bikes transformed into bucking broncos down the long set of whoops, throwing many riders up and over the bars. This proved advantageous to the Alaskan as he capitalized on a mistake by Gavin Faith and slid into the top spot of Main Event 2, claiming the overall win for the day. Ben heads into the next Race for the Championship sitting 5th in points and hungry for more returns to the top step.
