There’s also a limited amount of ‘Carbon edition’ models available to the tune of 120 units, each displaying it’s own unique reference number on the plate; sporting carbon panels on the front fairings and a sleek matte black finish on the remainder of the machine.
The LCD display has been exchanged with a new TFT instrumentation that was on the H2 SX SE, providing four selectable display modes and automatic brightness based on ambient light. All of the controls are accessible via hand switches on the handlebars, making it easy and safe to use while on the move. In addition, there’s also a new Smartphone Connectivity app, allowing users to access their vehicle information, riding records, notifications, and vehicle settings all via Bluetooth.
After four years since it’s debut; the 4 stroke, 4 cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled, supercharged, 230hp motor is the only thing to come out of a major factory with forced induction. Developed in part by Kawasaki’s motorcycle and aerospace division, he one-of-a-kind supercharged hyper sports motorcycle has made massive strides since the previous year’s model. A new air filter, intake chamber, and new spark plugs couple with better ECU mapping to bring the power rat- ing to an outstanding 230hp. Astonishingly, the new engine maintains a similar fuel efficiency as last year’s models all while saving 6.6 lbs com- pared to the previous iteration of engines. The transmission has a 6-speed dog ring system
straight off of a MotoGP bike with a quickshifter, bringing top of the line technology to the street. The quickshifter can also be used as an auto- blipper for seamlessly and smoothly downshift- ing through the gearbox.
The H2 is decked out with Ohlins TTX shocks with a plethora of 22 different adjustment set- tings for every speed and skill level, allowing the feel of the front end to be heavily customiz- able due to rider preference. Dual semi-floating 330mm Brembo discs have been accompanied by Brembo Sytelma front calipers, helped along by the KIBS ABS. New Bridgestone Battlax RS11 Sport Tires come standard on front and rear, providing improved handling on the 2019 H2.
Electronic rider aids include the advanced 6-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) system, updated KTRC (Kawasaki Traction Control) and KIBS (Kawasaki Intelligent Anti-Lock Braking System) that is put in place to keep the beastly 230hp under control. A multi-step KLCM (Ka- wasaki Launch Control Mode) is employed to prevent wheel spin and help control wheelies from a standstill.
Although the pricing and availability hasn’t been officially released, it’s rumored to be in the ballpark of $28,000 for the Standard H2 and $31,000 for the Carbon, as per the previous models.
