>> The AMA Supercross round in Seattle was de nitely a race to remember due to the intense weather conditions. According to a reporter, Juliana Daniell, Monster Energy Supercross has not seen muddy track conditions like last weekend’s in over ten years. This will be the thirty-second Supercross race in Seattle, Washington. Some of the factors that made the racing more dif cult include vision impairment, bike conserva- tion and severe ruts on the track. Many riders ran out of tear offs or roll-offs and had to remove their goggles completely for the remainder of the race. In addition to this, riders had to be cautious of their clutches breaking down and making sure their ma- chines didn’t overheat. Lastly, when the riders went down, getting mud on their gloves or handlebars made it dif cult for the rest of the race because it was slippery for them to hold on. Staying calm, riding loose and being comfortable was an important key
to staying on two wheels in the wet track conditions. Kyle Chisholm, who currently lives in Florida, quali ed in practice twenty fourth. Kyle turned pro in 2006 and has
not nished better than eighth so far in his Supercross racing career. Coming into this season, his goal was to nish near the top ve position. Kyle Chisholm signed with the 51Fifty Energy Drink Yamaha team at the start of the 2018 season. His teammate is number sixty three Hayden Mellross. In 250 heat two, Kyle held the top ve position for the majority of the heat. However, Kyle went down which resulted in him nishing sixteenth. Kyle secured his spot in the main by taking the third transfer position in the lcq along with other riders Christian Craig and Jess Pettis. Starting in the main event, Chisholm positioned himself in seventh in the holeshot. In the rst half of the main event, the 51Fifty Energy Drink Yamaha rider had battled up to sixth. Chisholm dem- onstrated his aggression and his perseverance throughout the race by going back and forth in battles with Kawasaki rider Adam Cianciarulo and KTM rider Mitchell Olden- burg. He nished out the night in eighth overall, setting him up in seventh for 250 SX West Coast Championship overall points standings. Kyle’s fastest lap for the night was 1.23.4 and his average was 1.25.1. Throughout the series so far, Kyle Chisholm has shown his ability to be consistent and competitive with the other riders in the top ten.
