When Ken woke up in the highest altitude he will experience all summer long, he knew that it would be here in Colorado where he would prove he can, and will win in all conditions. Kenny had a very standard morning, posting top five times in both practice sessions. When Moto 1 began, it was clear that Ken was holding back in practice as he rocketed out to the lead and immediately began pulling away. Three laps into the moto, Roczen had pulled out a substantial lead and was consistently turning lap times that were 2 or more seconds faster than the rest of
the field. He continued to stretch out his lead as the race went on and would win in dominating fashion. In the second moto, everyone was wondering what would happen if Roczen got off to a bad start and the crowd in Colorado got their wish. As Kenny
rounded the first corner around 10th place, the fans were on their feet.
