Benny Bloss has put forth solid efforts so far in his first full outdoor season. The rookie has taken
advantage of his ride with BTO Sports KTM and he put together a decent eighteenth quickest qualifying
time in Colorado. He was aiming to get back inside that top fifteen come race time.
The gate dropped in moto number one and Benny Bloss was buried deep in the field. He came around lap one mired in twenty-fifth place. He clearly wasn’t happy with that position and charged forward to eighteenth just four laps into the moto. He wasn’t done there and he picked up four more spots by the halfway point putting him in fourteenth. He was putting forth a really strong performance and found himself in thirteenth late in the moto with no one in front of him of behind him and he just rode to the finish line. It was a quiet moto for the rookie but very impressive after his very poor start. Bloss got a much better start in the second moto coming around lap one in tenth place. He didn’t have that same intensity from the first moto and made some mistakes falling back to fifteenth a few laps in. He seemed to have regained his composure after awhile and went after Andrew Short for fourteenth but he would bobble again falling back to sixteenth. Late in the race he hopped on the rear fender of Short again and finally made the move hopping back into fifteenth. He kept his mini charge going and tried to get teammate Justin Brayton for fourteenth in the final laps but the veteran was able to withstand the pressure from the young gun. It would end up being 13-15 moto scores for fifteenth overall for Bloss as he continues to ride strong for the BTO Sports KTM team.
