Lakewood Colorado has always been a rough round for the New Mexico Native of Jason Anderson and 2016 was another year that would see Jason struggle. After qualifying 5th overall with a lap time of 2:08.876 it looked like El Hombre would have things figured out on the high altitude track. The Husqvarna rider also got a great jump off the gate in the first 450 race of the day and battled for the holeshot with series points leader Ken Roczen. The German would make short work on Anderson and break away quickly. Dungey was next in line to challenge Jason. After playing cat and mouse for the first 5 minutes of the race The Dunge made his way into 2nd and immediately Jason fell off the pace and started to roll jumps just shortly after. Thunder Val- ley is a track that’s on the side of a mountain and the high elevation has always gave Anderson a hard time. Jason got altitude sickness and had to pull off the track and call it a weekend. El Hombre left the track right away and made his way to the airport to travel home and rest up for round 4 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Highpoint in just two short weeks. Jason went 35-40 moto scores and it was the first time he failed to finish inside the top 6 this year. Rest up and come out swinging #21.
