Lining up on the furthest inside gate, a tad bit of wheel spin and delayed reaction off the initial launch, actually allowed him to scurry along the inside, and somehow weasel his way to the front of the field. Juking side to side, all in search for that oh so perfect route of momentum, Webb attempted to show Forkner the
true testament of the professional ranks, and eventually inherit the lead by the halfway point of lap two. Railing the compost-blended soil with a handful of fury, Webb really began to find his groove while inching from the field. Seemingly looking as though he’d ridden the course a million times, Webb was gracing each berm with utter fluidity and optimum throttle control. A downfall to being out-front, however, is that you have no one to visually chase after, and this scenario began to play out, with Joey Savatgy in tow, and benefitting positive repercussions. Although a valiant effort from the number 37 would ensue, Webb would do just enough to hold on and take the moto win. “If it aint broke don’t fix it,” the message that was written on the chalkboard of Webb’s semi as they loaded the gate for number two. Although not a picture perfect start would follow, he’s certainly seen worse days. Aggressively swatting the number one of Jeremy Martin away, Webb knew the task at hand to obtain optimum overall score, and praise from his team owner’s; he sat second.
