ANDREW SHORT
Although it’s significance has already been made apparent, 2016 has been made extra special in that it has been deemed Andrew Short’s final year of professional racing. Since making the decision himself, though, Andrew’s road to retirement hasn’t gone quite as planned. The veteran 450 class contender has been riddled with injury and has been unsuccessful in reaching his top ten capabilities. On a positive note, the established KTM threat has been close in his efforts, finishing in 12th multiple times, and has
continued his consistency, even after ten years at the top level. Unfortunately for Short, round five in Tennessee was a tie for his season worst finish, a 17th, creating a rough middle stretch as the going gets tougher while the summer reaches its peak stages. For Short, the speed is there, it’s more of a matter of staying in front of the late race chargers to fend off mediocre results. The #29 will be there, he proved that a long time ago but, with seven rounds left, time is running out for Short to replenish his repertoire with a top ten finish. The respected camp of Short looks for a changing of the guards in Red Bud, a heartland for motocross, for round six in his farewell outdoor season.
