Creeping into the top five after the pack lunged into the initial left bend, Musquin was trailing two of his KTM teammates, that of Blake Baggett and Ryan Dungey. A festive color, the pack would hold together, in honor of Halloween and the abundance of Pumpkin spice latte’s that filled the concession stand. The orange brigade sought on, remaining true, but Musquin overtaking fourth by the halfway point. His teammate and training partner Dungey lay just ahead, but Musquin, being as calculated as he is, remained poised, bringing fourth home to the finish line. Double M wheeled into the gate for the second moto looking to damage,
and that he did. Ditching caution the wayside, he pressed on from a start outside of the top five, picking off
veterans with somewhat relative ease. As the track began to dry, Musquin’s hardpack roots really began to
rare the head, pushing the pace, but never straying from his naturally smooth base. As usual, only Tomac

and Dungey were ahead, finishing third, and his memo for round three was to assert himself at the top.
