Buried deep into a sea of killers, Varize emerged from the rubble with sword in hand, and a war paint masked for battle. With the battle cry of his KTM ringing off the stadium walls, he let both the competition and crowd know who the number 24 truly was. Eleventh in the opening moments, Varize had to precisely pick through the field of specialists, on the foreign territory of Supercross track. He would have a rather tough time however, almost charging too hard for the Vegas terrain to handle. A valiant effort, he would finish ninth and go back to the truck and regroup. Varize made it a tad bit easier on himself at the beginning of moto two, as a fifth place start saw him sniffing the fumes of the front runners. A technician by trait, Varize West Coast roots played in favor as the race began to dwindle on; the competition slipping, and pushing too hard, all the while the number 24 tucking the shoulder, weighting the outside footpeg, and riding as if his tires were laced with optimum glue. He rallied lap after lap, never settling, and he was most definitely rewarded; a third place finish, and overall boosting finish would help claim fourth as he rode off into the Vegas skyline.
