>> Dan Reardon’s return season to the United States has been mildly successful. In the races he has not crashed or run into problems his worst finish is a seventh. So the veteran Aussie has proven that he can still run with the young guns and put in some quick laps. The fighting spirit in him wishes he could have put together some more complete main events and he would have one more chance to do so before the long break after Arlington.
Reardon looked solid as usual in practice throwing in the seventh fastest lap time. He started his heat race with an average start rounding lap one around sixth place. He made a few quick passes on Martinez and Aub- erson to jump up to third place halfway through the short qualifying race. He settled in there and rode it all the way to the checkered flag. Reardon looked to be having a pretty nice night going for him going into the main. Reardon got another average start to kick off the race that counts.
After one, the Aussie was in eighth position. He worked around Hayden Mellross on lap two and then passed Auberson on lap four to hop into sixth. He then set sights on Martinez but Plessinger had other plans and bumped his teammate back to seventh. Reardon regrouped and moved back up and completed the pass on Martinez to regain sixth. From there he rode a quiet race but would finish in fifth place thanks to a McElrath mechanical. It was his best finish of the year and it gave him some good vibes before the West Coast series pauses for the beginning of the East Coast series.
