TREY CANARD
If you go back and look at Trey Canard’s career as a whole, there will be a couple things that stick out like a sore thumb - he knows how to win and he’s had a lot of injuries. He may be one of the most injury prone riders currently in the 450 class, and the injury bug bit him again at the beginning of the season
in preparation for High Point. He had a gnarly practice crash that caused a bulging disc in his back and forced him out of the middle of the season, but he’ll finally be making his return to racing this weekend at
Millville. In 2013, Canard had a very similar situation where he returned from injury at Millville and he managed to lead laps and snag a podium. It’s going to be a big ask for Canard to come out and match the pace of Roczen and Tomac right away, but third place may not be out of the question for the lone HRC rider. Canard had been putting together an incredibly consistent season up until his injury. He hadn’t put himself into the mix for championship contention, but he continued to lay down solid results moto after moto and didn’t finish outside of the top six. Can Canard return to racing this weekend and continue his consistent streak of solid results? The HRC team desperately needs some good results after losing Cole Seely to a freak injury between Muddy Creek and Red Bud. Look for Canard to really start stepping it up when the series heads back east to Unadilla after the break.
