FREDRIK NOREN
Fast Freddie Noren has been living up to his nickname as of late, but his spectacular rides have been flying relatively under the radar. He won the ‘Hard Charger’ award at Southwick, because he crashed in the first corner in both motos, something that normally goes unnoticed. He was involved in the pile up right behind Barcia in the first moto and struggled to get his bike starting, taking off well behind the rest of
the field. He passed twenty riders and made it back to twentieth place, snagging one point in the process in the first moto. Noren also crashed in the first corner of the second moto, but he fought his way all the way up to 13th before crashing again and finishing 20th. So, although he only scored two points on the weekend, he had the speed to finish top ten in both motos had he put himself in the right position out of the gate. It will be crucial for Noren to qualify well at Millville and get a good gate pick for the first moto. He’s capable of putting his Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Honda in the top ten with a proper start. The Swede is yet to break into the top ten this year, but he scored an 11th in the second moto at Thunder Valley behind the breakout ride of Matt Biscgelia. Noren was able
to score some top 10’s when he filled in for the factory Honda team in 2014 and with Seely on the sidelines indefinitely, who knows
what a couple good results could do for Fast Freddie’s future?
