A shaving of the pounds in the weight room paid off for the number 53, as a near top 15 start was
a result of precise timing and careful treading in the opening chicanes. With endurance accumulating at every round, the 16th place was respectable, but something both he and team felt he needed to increase as the moto began to dwell on. Heat was rising, the fans were getting louder and louder; as it was much needed, because Bowers needed that extra push, and an outside remedy was just what the doctor had ordered, for Tyler to withstand the force that was around him. Nestled between Kyle Chisholm and Zack Williams, the Kentucky Wildcat would reside in 18th, hoping to rebound in
his next effort. Shuffling near the 17th position, the ruts of Millville were providing a different challenge than the waist high whoop sections that the AX champ was used to. To many, it seemed as if they were riding a high wire, or balance beam on many parts of the track, carefully tiptoeing and acting as if any moment could result in disaster. Splitting ruts with precision, Bowers was doing all he could to overcome that mental hump and really do some damage on the results sheet. Lap after lap he would charge, eventually resulting in a 17th place finish, and 18th overall on the day.
