>> After a second place overall at Glen Helen last weekend, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jason Anderson was searching for victory this weekend. Arguably the highest elevation of any professional motocross track in the world, Thunder Valley is known for creating unique physical challenges for the riders. After facing severe altitude sickness that resulted in the inability to race last year in Colorado, Anderson skipped press day and arrived late the eve- ning before race day in hopes of preventing the same situation- Proof that these riders are willing to push through any and all adversity to get to the top. Anderson was not going to let anything get in the way of what he works day in and day out for as he lined up for the first moto. The gates dropped and the number 21 im- mediately showed everyone that he was not going to have a repeat of last year when he found himself in second behind Bogle in first at the start of the moto. The track was littered with battles, as Jason Anderson stayed focused on his second place spot and the focus paid off when he passed the checkered in the number two position. The New Mexico native was already sitting in a much better place physically than he was the last time he was in Colorado, and now he was able to move forward with the mental strength that he needed for the action that would more than likely be occurring in the second moto. Once again, Anderson grabbed an excellent start in the second moto and quickly found himself sit-
ting in the fourth place spot. After some very intense battling, Anderson crossed the finish line in the sixth place position behind Grant in fifth. After a 2-6 finish, Jason Anderson was able to leave Lakewood, Colorado with a third place overall podium finish.
