>> Shane McElrath is still trying to rebuild his fitness and confidence back after struggles in the late stages in the Supercross season. Although Shane struggled with injuries in Supercross he proved that he was one
of the best 250 riders the AMA has to offer. That being said McElrath was looking for a fresh start when the great outdoors returned May 20th at
the historic Hangtown track in Sacramento, Ca. It is clear that the #38 TLD KTM rider of McElrath is still struggling with his injuries sustained at Seattle SX as he has been struggling to put himself inside of the top ten. This weekend Shane was able finish 10-9 for his best results so far in
the motocross season. @shanemcelrath_ started in the top ten in moto #1 and battled for that position for the first 20 minutes of the race. Shane then started to get shuffled backwards finding himself in 11th in the final stages. McElrath was able to fight hard and get back to 10th in the final 3 laps, making that his best moto 1 finish of the year. Shane struggled early in moto 2 going from 12th to 14th in the first five minutes. Shane put his head down and charged his way past 5 riders to get 9th, tying his best finish of the year. On paper 10-9 may not be the best results but Shane is steadily improving each weekend, how much closer can he get himself to the top 5 at High Point?
